Offers

In our association there are some other resources that can be borrowed or picked up. Some of them are listed here.

Firewood Boxes

In our wood workshop there are residual wood sections which are suitable for firing. As part of the open workshop it is possible to ask if there are currently other residual wood. This always depends on how the workshop is actually being used and what projects are being implemented and accordingly generating throw wood.

As usually somebody has to cut the wood sufficiently small, sort it and then clean it up, work is also created here, blunt saw blades and power consumption. We are therefore grateful if a small amount of donations could be left.

BrailleRAP XL - OSH embosser for Braille text

In 2025 we built a BrailleRAP embosser together with Hugues Aubin. With this open source hardware machine you can emboss on paper sheets up to DIN A3 graphics and fonts. The machine including accessories can be borrowed from us. We have already had positive experiences with visually impaired.

Included in the scope of the lending are: Eurobox with lid and handle (60 x 40 x 33.5 cm), BrailleRap embosser with USB cable and power supply, pre-set laptop (Linux Mint) with USB cable mouse and power supply, a few plotted examples for touching and watching it. Everything is safe with foam in the case.

In order to make you more familiar with this, we like to lend the machine over longer periods of time and give an intro about possibilities and limits, problems and solutions (e.g. handling the software). The rental is free of charge and is subject to a rental contract and a bar deposit (100 €). This is completely returned when the device is returned without damage.

For embossing, you need suitable paper (not included), which is tear-resistant (not torn from the stamp). The machine is preset to 230 g/cm² thick paper. It is suitable, for example, for drawing cardboard by Marpa Jansen.

More details on BrailleRAP can be found in our wiki and on the official project page.
